Turtle Ravenholt is a photographer, printmaker and poet from Canada now working and living in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

As an autistic and disabled artist they use a monochromatic black and white palette to mimic their black and white thinking. This theme of contrast flows through all of their work as they examine numerous conflicting ideas such as nature versus man and the complex messaging from society about what it values and what it sees as waste.

Through contradiction and juxtaposition they play with tension and resolve Their neurodivergence means that they examine things from every angle and direction, constantly searching for all of the possible trajectories and conclusions, as sisyphian task that often creates barriers. Through their art and practice they hope to allow others to use their struggles to find new and fresh ways of thinking and feeling about the world.
